I have a clip on the timeline in Motion5. I want to keep it in the same position, same in and out point, but I want to come in earlier in the footage, so like you can do a trim in FCPX by entering T for TRIM and then just pull the footage. How do I do this?

Select the clip, go to the Inspector, Properties, Crop. Although it is called "Crop", this works just like "Trim" does in FCP X.
Note that using the sliders you may not be able to go as far as you need, but you can manually enter values for top, bottom, left and right - in the picture, I typed 400 for the right parameter.
Thank you but no, sorry, this is not what I mean and I just realise that there are two Trim functions in FCPX - how silly!
I´m talking about the actual movement of in and out points within the clip, as in selecting the T key on the keyboard and dragging the clip so it starts later within the same clip (is it called Toggle I wonder or is that something else?).
Yes, Motion has trim tools.
